Morinello Joins Road Workers For CHIPS Rally

Today, Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) joined New York highway employees calling on the governor and the Legislature to include much-needed budgetary funding to help repair damaged roads and highways across the state. The Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS) provides state funds to various areas across the state for roads, bridges and highway projects.

“Today’s rally served as a reminder as to why CHIPS funding is so critical to New Yorkers,” said Morinello. “Across our state, highways and roads are damaged and in desperate need of repair without the necessary funding to do so. With additional CHIPS funding, we’ll ensure state residents and tourists have easy and safe access to all our roads and highways. I’ve also advocated for the restoration of Extreme Winter Recovery funds. New York’s harsh weather conditions erode our infrastructure and wreak havoc on residents but this recovery funding ensures road maintenance and safety.

“It was a pleasure meeting with many of the hard-working men and women who attended the rally today, and I hope the governor and the Legislature heed this message and deliver this important funding.”  Â
