Morinello: New Yorks Spending Problem far From Over
A statement from Assemblyman Angelo J. Morinello (R,C,I,Ref-Niagara Falls) on Wednesday, March 13.
March 13, 2019
The Assembly Majoritys one-house budget makes it clear New Yorks spending problem is far from over. Their proposal blew through our states spending cap and piled on an additional $5.7 billion in new taxes, a devastating blow to our middle-class families. State residents are leaving by the thousands and if implemented, todays one-house budget would surely cause this trend to continue. Its time we start assessing the effectiveness of state-run programs and holding those accountable who dont yield positive results. In the coming month, I urge my colleagues in the Legislature to cut waste and unnecessary programs and prioritize the issues that matter to state taxpayers.Â
