Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will be hosting a special event, the One Life - One Flag program, an initiative sponsored by The Battle Within organization. This event is dedicated to honoring the more than 8,000 veterans who have tragically lost their lives to suicide due to PTSD this year. Each life will be symbolized by the placement of one flag, representing our collective commitment to raising awareness and providing essential mental and behavioral health support to our veterans and first responders.

Assemblyman Santabarbara will be joined by representatives from The Battle Within, Pat Smith (President of the Mont Pleasant Neighborhood Association), veteran service organizations, and community members. The event will take place on Sunday, June 30th at 9:00 AM at the Mont Pleasant Veterans Park located on Chrisler Avenue in Schenectady, behind the CVS at 1630 Chrisler Ave.

The more than 8,000 veterans, flags will remain in place for one week in honor of these heroes, including throughout the 4th of July holiday.

The Battle Within is dedicated to breaking down barriers and ensuring that all veterans and first responders receive the mental and behavioral health support they need. Their mission is to foster a community of support and understanding for those who have served our nation.
