“This week’s court ruling emphasizes the ongoing need to address corruption and maintain the integrity of our state legislature. To be clear: I voted against the 2022 pay raise and fully support limiting outside income because I firmly believe that lawmakers should prioritize the public interest above all else. Our legislature must also operate transparently and be free from any undue influence of outside employment. We must do everything in our power to hold legislators accountable and ensure they are fully committed to the work they are elected to do. As we deal with the effects of this ruling, I will continue to advocate for policies that combat corruption and uphold the highest standards of integrity in our state government.”
