“I’m deeply saddened by the passing of Carm Basile – a respected leader, a dedicated public servant, and a friend.

As the longtime head of the Capital District Transportation Authority, Carm spent more than four decades expanding access to transportation across the Capital Region, connecting people to jobs, healthcare, and opportunity.

I had the opportunity to work with him on efforts to expand transit in our region, most notably bringing CDTA service to the City of Amsterdam – restoring a critical service and reconnecting Montgomery County to the broader Capital Region.

Carm believed in building a stronger, more connected region, and he backed that up with action. His impact will be felt for years to come.”
