Assemblyman Santabarbara: State Funds Keep Schenectady County Airport Moving in the Right Direction
Over $1M allocated to construct Business Aviation Complex at Schenectady County Airport
Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced $1,485,000 in state funds for the Schenectady County Airport to construct a Business Aviation Complex. This is one of 29 airport projects across New York State to receive funding under the New York States Aviation Capital Grant Program.
“Today’s announcement is exciting news and keeps Schenectady County moving in the right direction,” said Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara. “As a civil engineer, I know how important investments in transportation infrastructure are to the success of communities of Upstate New York,” Santabarbara added. “This significant investment brings 21st century technology to the Schenectady County Airport, boosting our local economy and connecting our area to new opportunities.”
The availability of funds was first announced in March of 2017 as part of the five-year State Transportation Plan, an initiative supported by Assemblyman Santabarbara in the state budget. With this funding a number of needed improvements can be completed, including upgrades in security, procurement of maintenance and ground service equipment, and construction and expansion of airline facilities.
