Assemblyman Santabarbara announced that his recommendation to appoint Schenectady County Sheriff Dominic Dagostino to the Statewide Interoperable and Emergency Communication Board has been approved. The appointment carries a four year term.
 
The State Interoperable and Emergency Communication Board is tasked with:

• Making recommendations to the Commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services on the expenditure of grants and other funding programs related to interoperable and emergency communications;
• Making recommendations related to the development, coordination and implementation of policies, plans, standards, programs and services related to interoperable and emergency communications, including but not limited to ensuring compliance with federal mandates for interoperable communications and compatibility with the national incident management system; and
• Establishing structures and guidelines to maintain interoperable communications planning and coordination at the statewide level.

"He has been a great partner and is more than qualified with knowledge and experience in all five of the areas required for this appointment," Santabarbara added.
