Assemblyman Santabarbara Hosts Flag Day Ceremony

Assemblyman Santabarbara was joined by local veterans today for a Flag Day dedication ceremony at Capital District YMCA’s 845 Commons Veterans Housing in Schenectady, where a new flag pole was unveiled, completed with funding from his office. At the event a new flag was provided by Rotterdam Elks Lodge 2157, the flag was raised by Schenectady VFW Post 1895 during the ceremony.
“Our flag is more than just a symbol – it’s a piece of history that unites us as a democracy and reminds us of all our great country has to offer,” said Assemblyman Santabarbara. “When we see its stars and stripes wave, we’re not only reminded of how our nation came to be, but also how far we’ve come.”
