“It is completely inappropriate for New York State to offer drivers' licenses to those who have failed to follow the rules of our immigration process. The lax identification requirements will ultimately put the safety of our community at risk if clerk offices cannot truly identify an individual. As we are seeing, many county clerk offices have already expressed their concerns over the potential legal and technical issues. I share those concerns and VOTED NO the Green Light bill. I urge the Governor and all elected officials to listen to these concerns – simply put, the Green Light bill isn’t the answer.”
