100th Birthday Parade for Lillian Kanches

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara joined family, friends and neighbors of Lillian Kanches this morning to surprise Lillian Kanches of Fort Johnson with a drive-by parade to celebrate her 100th Birthday.

Assemblyman Santabarbara presents Lillian and her dog Bubba a State Assembly Citation honoring her on this special occasion [PICTURED ABOVE].

Lillian M. Kanches was born on August 31st, 1920 in Amsterdam, New York. At 10 years old, Lillian moved to Fort Johnson, a place she continues to call home to this day. For many years she worked alongside her husband, Peter, in a family business - Kanches Sunoco Service Station in Fort Johnson and Kanches Oil. She is a member of First Baptist Church of Amsterdam where she served on various boards and sang in the choir, she is also a member of Sir William Johnson Seniors, Perth Seniors, and Singing Seniors. Lillian enjoys spending time with her 5 children, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
