Assemblyman Santabarbara hosting drive-thru COVID-19 Disinfecting and Sanitizing Event for Emergency Response Vehicles *WEDNESDAY*

Partnership with Quick Response to provide specialized service at no-cost to law enforcement, firefighters and EMS

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara will be hosting a no-cost COVID-19 disinfecting and sanitizing event for emergency response vehicles. This will be the second event made possible by a partnership with Quick Response. Santabarbara hosted a similar drive-thru event in Montgomery County where more than 70 first responder vehicles were disinfected and sanitized. On Wednesday, this event will again be open to all first responders at no-cost. Hundreds of vehicles from local area law enforcement, fire departments and EMS from Schenectady County are scheduled to attend.

The World Health Organization announced that the COVID-19 virus is primarily transmitted between people through respiratory droplets and contact routes. To combat this spread on surfaces in community-based settings, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends cleaning visibly dirty surfaces followed by disinfection for prevention against the virus and other viral respiratory illnesses. This service is critical to protecting the health and well-being of our first responders and the community they serve.
