“While these past months have been difficult for everyone, the CARES Act passed in March helped millions of struggling families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by providing them with enhanced federal unemployment benefits,”Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara said. “Despite the fact that cases are spiking in nearly every state, these benefits programs are set to expire on December 31st, leaving these families with more undue hardship. Some have lost loved ones while others have lost their livelihood in the wake of this crisis,” Santabarbara added. “This critical assistance is needed now more than ever to protect American families and help us all weather these unprecedented and trying times. Our health and economic future depends on it. I urge our leaders in Washington DC to take swift action.”
