Although we are near the beginning of spring, many parts of New York will still be experiencing some chilly weather. That’s why I want to alert you to a second round of emergency Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) funding this year.

To apply, contact your HEAP Local District using the information below.

Act quickly — HEAP funding is only available until April 30, 2021, or until it runs out.

2. Apply for HEAP: You can download a HEAP application online at otda.ny.gov/programs/apply/#heap.

For renters and homeowners struggling to make ends meet right now, the high cost of heating one’s home may prove to be a difficult task. I encourage those in need of assistance to check their eligibility and apply for Emergency HEAP.
