Assemblyman Santabarbara Announces Funding for the City of Amsterdam

Assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara announced $100,000 in state funding to support the City of Amsterdam’s construction of a new pool building at Veterans Park. The funding was secured by Santabarbara in this year’s state budget.

“This past year has certainly challenged our families in ways like never before,” said Assemblyman Santabarbara. “I recognize that the pandemic posed many new challenges and we must make sure that our children do not suffer as a result of these challenges – that’s why I worked to secure the funding needed to build a modern pool facility that better serves our community. I know this investment is not only an improvement for Veterans Park, but also a solid investment in our future.”

“Built in 1965, the City Pool at Veterans Park has been one of the most effective recreational investments our City has ever made," said Amsterdam Mayor, Mike Cinquanti. “Now with this $100,000 state grant secured by Assemblyman Santabarbara, we will be able to replace an aging, problem plagued pool house and make the experience of using the pool an even better and more enjoyable one for City residents of all ages.”
