Armed Forces Day At The Altamont Fair

I couldn’t be happier to be back at the Altamont Fairgrounds, especially on Armed Forces Day. Like many in our community, I was disappointed that the fair was canceled last summer to keep us safe from COVID-19. This time around, with necessary safety precautions in place, the Fair was back in full swing with a wide range of activities, delicious food and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

On this day at the fair I was honored with the opportunity to recognize our brave veterans and current military members who have fought to defend this country. We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to our servicemen and women who put their lives on the line to protect us and the freedoms we hold so dear. They’ve shown courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable trauma and have been forced to endure new challenges as a result of this public health crisis.

As a member of the Assembly Committee on Veterans’ Affairs and a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, I’ll always look out for our veterans and their families and ensure they have the resources they need. Thank you again to all of those who have served our nation, and know that your dedication and sacrifice is appreciated today and every day.
