This federal aid will fill gaps in municipal budgets harmed by the pandemic, helping municipalities keep essential services like education, utilities, and health services.
However, with revenue conversations ongoing in the FY 2022 Budget process, Assemblymember Kelles makes the distinction between federal aid meant to address pandemic-related budget gaps and long-term budget items meant to create meaningful, systemic changes.
