Palumbo Announces Italian-American Scholarships
Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (R,C,I,Ref-New Suffolk) announced today that the Conference of Italian-American State Legislators will once again be offering four scholarship opportunities, two academic and two athletic, at this years Italian-American Day on June 3. The four scholarships will be for $3,000 each and are available to residents of the 2nd Assembly District who are current college students or high school seniors entering college.
This is a great opportunity for college students and college-bound high school graduates in the 2nd Assembly District, said Palumbo. Attending college is a considerable expense to both the student and their family. I am very proud to join with other members of the Conference to offer these scholarships to hard-working students looking to pursue their athletic and academic dreams.
As in years past, the scholarships are only open to constituents who reside in the districts represented by senators and assembly members who are part of the conference. Due to the large number of applications, the top two applicants from each category will be picked.
Palumbo said all applications in the 2nd Assembly District must be submitted to his office by Friday, March 29. They can be obtained by contacting his office at 631-727-0204, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by visiting his district office at 30 W. Main St., Suite 103 in Riverhead. If you are submitting an application by email, please make sure the subject line reads: Application for Italian-American Scholarship.
