Palumbo to Host Operation Safe Child

June 10, 2019

Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (R,C,I,Ref-New Suffolk) announced today that in conjunction with the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department he will be hosting a children’s ID program. Operation Safe Child will take place on Saturday, June 15, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverhead Library at 330 Court Street, Riverhead. All children who attend the event will be issued an identification card.

“This is a great opportunity for kids who are not old enough to be issued a driver’s license in the community to get proper identification,” said Palumbo. “Whether it be natural disasters or any other emergency within the community, it’s important that our children have the proper identification in case they are separated from their parents and loved ones. Every child who attends this event will be issued identification; I strongly encourage everyone to attend.
