Summer Reading Challenge
Assemblyman Billy Jones is partnering with local libraries and school districts to hold his annual Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s theme is “Oceans of Possibilities,” celebrating all things aquatic and ocean-related encouraging North Country students to learn about and explore as they read.
To participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, children should read a book for a minimum of 15 minutes a day for at least 40 days during July and August. Children can read on their own or with a reading partner, such as family or friends, and mark days off on the Summer Reading Challenge calendar. Once they have reached 40 days or more, they can submit the calendar to Assemblyman Jones’ office to receive an Excellence in Reading Certificate.
