Assemblyman Billy Jones Sworn in to Represent the 115th Assembly District
Assemblyman Billy Jones (D-Chateaugay) was sworn into office today to represent the people of the 115th state Assembly District.
“Last fall, I had the pleasure to talk to thousands of hardworking families across the district,” said Jones. “I plan to bring those voices with me to Albany so that we can build a stronger North Country and provide middle-class families the opportunity to get ahead.”
The 115th Assembly District is comprised of Clinton and Franklin counties, as well as the towns of Brasher, Hopkinton, Lawrence and Piercefield in St. Lawrence County. Billy Jones is a lifelong resident of the North Country and previously served as chair of the Franklin County Legislature. Jones is eager to begin his work in the Assembly to strengthening the North Country.
“It’s been an honor to serve as the chair of the Franklin County legislature, but more needs to be done to ensure that the North Country will be a place that our children can be proud to call home,” said Jones. “We must continue to build on the progress we have made in growing our economy and providing a solid education for our kids.”
In the Assembly, Jones is committed to working across the aisle to strengthen our kids’ education, invest in infrastructure, expand access to broadband internet, support small businesses and create good-paying jobs.
Assemblyman Jones will also be sworn-in on January 5th in Plattsburgh City Hall at 5 P.M. along with officials from the City of Plattsburgh, reception to follow at Olive Ridley’s.
