Assemblyman Jones: Local Projects Receive Grants from Empire State Development
“The Keeseville Civic Center will receive $500,000 through Empire State Development to renovate and reopen for community use. This funding is the result of the hard work of volunteers who came together after the civic center was closed in 2010. The money will be used to update the building so it can offer important services, including senior housing and a gymnasium. In time, we’re hoping the center will open to businesses to boost our local economy.
“Additionally, the City of Plattsburgh received a grant towards the demolishing of the Highway Oil Building that will help create new opportunities in the community. Both of these funding opportunities provide the municipalities with opportunities to improve their community and I applaud those who helped make these projects a reality.”
