Assemblyman Jones: Ethics Reform is Necessary before the End of Session
“People in the North Country don’t trust Albany and with good reason. For too long, we’ve seen politicians pay more attention to big money than to us. The North Country will not tolerate this behavior anymore. Albany must be accountable, transparent and responsive to the people we serve – not special interests.
“Ethics reform is a top priority for me. Already this year, I voted to strip taxpayer-funded pensions from public officials convicted of corruption. It will be on the ballot in November for voters to have the final say. And, as we enter into the final months of the legislative session, I’ll be fighting to close the LLC loophole to reduce the amount of dark money in politics and curb the influence of wealthy special interests. The North Country deserves representatives they can trust, not politicians who are working on behalf of lobbyists and corporations.
