Assemblyman Jones: Governor Must Issue Regulations for Restarting 5-Hour Driving Classes
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted nearly every part of our lives and affected our communities in ways we could have never expected. This includes New Yorkers who are in the process of acquiring a drivers license. Restarting these 5-hour courses is not only important for teenagers and others who are earning their drivers license, but also for our communitys dedicated driving school operators. It is especially important to restart these courses in rural areas such as the North Country where a drivers license is a necessity. We cant leave these services out of the North Countrys reopening plans.
As the governor develops regulations to safely and responsibly reopen schools across the state, he must do the same for in-person 5-hour courses. As we move forward, Ill continue working with the governor to move the North Country and New York toward a brighter future.
