On Sunday, November 19, Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) hosted his annual Veterans Hall of Honor event. This event is meant to honor local veterans for their service to our country.

Among those honored was Pasquale Alesia from Malverne. While on active duty from September 1969 to November 1972, Pasquale attended the Infantry Officers Basic Course, Airborne School, Ranger School, Air Movement School, Jump Master School, Military Assistance Training School and Defense Language Institute School. While serving in the New York Army National Guard for 27 years, he attended Field Artillery AOC, Command and General Staff School and the Army War College at Carlisle Barracks. Pasquale served three years on active duty, 13 months with the 82nd Airborne Division and 11 months with MACV Advisory Team 3 Hue, Vietnam. Upon discharge in 1972, he accepted a NYARNG Commission as Captain. He served as Field Artillery Officer in the following assignments, HQ Battery Commander, Firing Battery Commander Battalion Training Officer, Field Artillery Battalion Commander and Field Commander (42nd Infantry Division Artillery Commander).

“It is my great honor to recognize all these amazing and inspiring veterans. They have given up so much to protect the freedoms we enjoy in the U.S. To honor them like this is the least I can do as a thankful citizen. We owe veterans a debt we can never repay and must always remember freedom is never free,” said Curran.
