Curran Honors Local Law Enforcement Heroes
Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) recently attended the Long Island Shields Luncheon to show his unwavering support for law enforcement. While there he helped honor Lynbrook police officers Kevin Hoffman, Patrick Scanlon and Brandon Lavista. These officers recently sacrificed their physical safety in order to keep their community safe. They attempted to take a suspect into custody, and when the suspect attempted to flee and pulled a gun on the officers, the three brave heroes were able to wrestle the gun away from him and ultimately make the arrest.
“Situations like these really show how important and selfless our brave law enforcement officers are and how much they care about their community. The fact they were willing to risk their own lives to make sure a violent criminal was brought to justice speaks to the kind of character all law enforcement, and specifically officers Hoffman, Scanlon and Lavista, have. I could not be more proud or thankful to be in the presence of these true American heroes. Their courageous actions are a perfect example of why I will always back the blue 100%,” said Curran.
