Curran Celebrates Oceanside Young Leaders
Over the weekend, Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) hosted a “Young Leaders In The 21st” event. This event honored young people who make a positive difference in their community. The following person from Oceanside was honored:
Rylie Graham- Rylie Graham is a dynamic six-year-old in first grade. With a lemonade stand as her stage, she’s not only quenching thirst but also spreading hope and joy to those who need it most. Inspired by her own family’s journey—her brother was diagnosed with cancer at just four months old and underwent treatment at Cohen Children’s Medical Center— Rylie’s mission is personal. Through her heartfelt efforts, she’s raised funds and gathers toys for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department at Cohens, determined to make a difference for others facing similar challenges. Rylie’s compassion and resilience serve as a beacon of light, proving even the smallest act of kindness can have a profound impact
“Young people are powerful. All throughout history, youth movements have had a tremendous impact on the way society thinks, acts and runs. Even today, it is young people who continue to lead the charge in the fight for equality and justice for all. I want to encourage young people to be bold. Change the world. Don’t be afraid to be a part of something bigger. Young people are a powerful group, and with great power comes great responsibility. Use your powers to make our small planet a better place,” Curran said.
