Curran Presents Rockville Centre Little League with Aid Money

Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) recently presented the Rockville Centre Little League with $50,000 in grant money. These funds will go toward upgrading Hickey Field to turf, which will create an enhanced experience not only for ballplayers but spectators as well.

“I was proud to present this grant money to Rockville Centre Little League, our kids deserve the best and that includes the fields they play on. By replacing the current field with turf, we will make sure little leaguers in Rockville Centre get the best experience possible, while also saving money, as turf does not require the same amount of maintenance as grass fields do,” said Curran.

“The Rockville Centre Little League initiated a project to improve the Hickey Field complex on Sunrise Highway, including converting the grass fields to turf, new lighting and batting cages. Brian Curran approached us offering to help us with the project. Brian not only secured money for our project but has been a partner with Little League, attending all of our events,” said Rockville Centre Little League President Peter Klugewicz.
