Today, Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) announced the allocation of state aid to help with construction projects at local libraries. The East Rockaway Library will receive $58,213 in aid, and the money will be used for an HVAC unit, lighting fixtures and a damaged wall in the Annex hallway will be replaced. Three windows and exit doors will also be replaced. The funding comes from the Capital Projects portion of the budget which Curran voted for.

“I am very pleased to announce that the East Rockaway Library will be receiving much-needed funds to renovate. Local libraries are invaluable to our communities as centers for not only reading but learning and exploration as well. Many happy memories are made in local libraries, and I cannot wait to see how they put these funds to great use to better our community,” said Curran.
