Curran Honors Women of Distinction from Malverne

Over the weekend Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook- 21st A.D.) hosted his annual “Women of Distinction” event. This event is to highlight the wonderful women that make the 21st district so special. Doris Aresta from Malverne was one of those honored. Doris has been a teacher at Nassau BOCES for over 26 years, after the tragic death of Officer Diller Doris raised over $24,000 for his family, in 2022 she organized a candlelight vigil for NYPD officers Jason Rivera and Wilbert Mora, she is also a member of the Nassau County Police Commissioner’s Community Council.

“It is my great honor to recognize all these amazing and inspiring women. Often their accomplishments may be overlooked, but these women are not in it for the glory, they simply love their community and want to give back. So the least I can do on behalf of a grateful community is to recognize them. They are truly an example of what a great woman and citizen should be,” said Curran.
