Curran Honors Women of Distinction from Rockville Centre

Over the weekend Assemblyman Brian Curran (Lynbrook-21st A.D.) hosted his annual “Women of Distinction” event. This event is held to highlight the wonderful women who make the 21st District so special. Nancy Codispoti and Rena Riback from Rockville Centre were honored. Nancy started her own business in the fitness industry at age 16, she currently is the Director of Senior Services for the Sandel Center where she develops programs that improve the lives of seniors. Rena started her career as general counsel to the New York State Human Rights Appeal Board, she then became a supervising attorney for the New York City Department of Child Welfare, she also has served on the PTA Board of Wilson School as well as the district-wide PTA council. Rena founded the Anti-Racism project in 2017 to combat hate. In 2020 Rena partnered with Sharon Shepard to create Sharon’s MLK Pantry, which provides food to those in need.

“It is my great honor to recognize all these amazing and inspiring women. Often their accomplishments may be overlooked, but these women are not in it for the glory, they simply love their community and want to give back. So the least I can do on behalf of a grateful community is to recognize them. They are truly an example of what a great woman and citizen should be,” said Curran.
