Gov. Hochul’s State of the State Address Fails to Meet New York’s Needs

A Statement by Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,C-New Hartford)

“Governor Hochul’s 2025 proposals once again prioritize temporary fixes over lasting solutions. While I was glad to hear about the proposed investments in public safety, housing and for our youth, many concerns still remain. The proposed measures like the $3 billion inflation refund and expanded child tax credits offer short-term relief, however, they fail to address the root causes of New York’s affordability crisis and the burden placed on families,” said Assemblyman Brian Miller. “New Yorkers deserve more than band-aid solutions — they deserve real, sustainable reform. I look forward to working with my colleagues and the Governor in the 2025 legislative session to come up with meaningful solutions to benefit the families of the 122nd Assembly District.
