Miller Appointed To Lead Agenda For Assembly Minority Conference

Assemblyman Brian Miller (R,I,C-New Hartford) has been appointed by Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) to serve in the Conference’s leadership as the Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee. Through this position, Miller will take on responsibilities helping to lead the legislative policy agenda for the Assembly Minority Conference.

“I want to congratulate Assemblyman Brian Miller on his new appointment as Vice-Chair of the Steering Committee for the Assembly Minority Conference. Brian’s knowledge and expertise will surely help him in this new role,” said Assembly Minority Leader Barclay. “I am certain he will continue to be an effective and respected voice for the constituents in his district and beyond. I am excited to work together during the 2021 legislative session to move New York’s recovery forward.”

“I would like to thank Leader Barclay for entrusting me with this position and giving me the opportunity to help shape the vision forward for our conference and the millions of New Yorkers we represent,” said Miller. “As the voice of the hardworking men and women from primarily rural, suburban and small upstate communities, it is more important than ever before that we have a strong agenda. I am very proud that my efforts to give voice to my district, which stretches from the Mohawk Valley to the Capitol Region, Catskills, and Hudson Valley, has been noticed and now I will have a greater opportunity to ensure our views are heard.”

In addition to serving on the Assembly Minority’s Steering Committee, Miller will continue to be the lead voice for his conference on the Assembly Real Property Committee and serve as a member on the Assembly committees on Agriculture, Consumer Protection, Environmental Conservation, and Transportation.

Miller said, “These issues are all of vital importance to the people I represent in the 101st District but also across our entire state, especially this year as the governor has set forth a budget that looks to address issues like climate change. Most importantly to me is ensuring that the needs of the people I represent are met. That they have their unemployment. They can get their vaccine. We have a lot of recovery ahead of us, and we need to set forth a plan to prepare our state for a strong economic future. But constituent services are also vital, and I am here to help with that first and foremost.”

Because of the expansive size of the 101st Assembly District, the Assemblyman encourages constituents in need of assistance on state issues to contact the district office that is closest geographically to them. His New Hartford office can be reached by calling (315) 736-3879, you can call his Wallkill office at (845) 895-1080, or you can email him at millerb@nyassembly.gov.
