Love is in the Air: Assembly Member Chantel Jackson Teams Up with Bronx Electeds, Ritchie Torres, Luis L. Sepulveda, Althea Stevens, and Vanessa L. Gibson to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a Senior Dance
Bronx, NY – Last week Friday, In a heartwarming initiative, I joined forces with my fellow South Bronx elected officials to host a Seniors' Valentine's Day Dance at William Hodson Community Center, bringing joy, connection, and a touch of romance to the lives of our beloved senior citizens.
William Hodson Senior Center, widely recognized as the first senior center in the country, was created to address social isolation, poor nutrition, and lack of support for older adults in the Bronx.
The event featured music, dancing, and delicious refreshments, creating the perfect atmosphere for seniors to enjoy each other's company and make lasting memories. As the Bronx celebrated love and connection, we took a moment to appreciate the unity and compassion that defined the borough. The Seniors' Valentine's Day Dance was a testament to the power of community and the commitment of our elected officials to enhance the lives of all residents, regardless of age.
The event was a resounding success, spreading love throughout the Bronx.
