Assemblyman Tague Attends Exclusive Emerging Legislative Leaders Program

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) recently attended the renowned University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business for the 2019 Emerging Legislative Leaders Program. The program selects 50 exemplary legislators from across the country that they deem are up and coming leaders. It seeks to provide an overview of the individual legislator’s personal leadership style, bring awareness of the importance of values and ethics in governance and public service. It also focuses on gaining a perspective on the importance of the role of the state legislature in contemporary American politics and highlights the importance of legislators as consensus builders and facilitators of compromise.

“I was immensely honored to be chosen to attend this program,” Tague said. “As one of only 50 legislators to be selected, I can’t tell you how much it means to me. I always strive to represent my constituents and the state of New York as best I can and this class has taught me so much about the demands and needs that we, as legislators, must fulfill. Honestly, it was a once in a lifetime experience and I can’t wait to get back to the district to apply what I’ve learned!”
