Tague: Fighting For Rural Broadband

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) recently participated in a hearing on rural broadband hosted in the Legislative Office Building in Albany. The purpose of the hearing was to gauge the impact of companies such as Spectrum and Charter and their commitment to providing quality service to upstate New Yorkers.

“I was very pleased to attend this hearing,” Tague said. “Providing quality broadband access to all New Yorkers has been a passion of mine for years. If we want to attract back the folks who have left the state, encourage new businesses to open and give our children the opportunity to start their careers and families here, they need to have reliable broad band. It’s 2019 and you can go to Main Street in Saugerties or Catskill, the two most urban centers of my district, and not have cell phone coverage. I look forward to the discussion and recommendations the hearing will produce so we can bring all of New York into the 21st Century.”
