Tague Supports Nourish New York Agricultural Initiative

Assemblyman Chris Tague (R,C,I,Ref-Schoharie) fully supports the Nourish New York program announced by Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday. The Nourish New York program would connect upstate farmers with food banks, paying farmers for food that would otherwise not be sold and providing it to needy families throughout the state.

“Our state coming together to make the most of its resources like this is exactly what we need to do to make it through this crisis together,” Tague said. “I was happy to see the governor put aside politics to meet the needs of New Yorkers all across the state, and I think this is a great start toward assuring our family farms survive to re-open after this pandemic. I think a program like this would be great even after the pandemic to help both farmers and needy families, because with no New York farms, we have no New York food.
