Crouch Calls for Passage of Legislation to Resolve New York’s Nursing Shortage Crisis

May 13, 2008

Assemblyman Cliff Crouch (R-Guilford) (far left) today joined his Assembly minority colleagues at a press conference in support of legislation that will address the nursing shortage in New York state. The legislation would provide nurses with loan forgiveness and establish a nursing reimbursement incentive and retention program.

"The nursing shortage is having a negative impact on the quality of care that hospitals are able to provide. We, as elected officials, owe it to the residents of New York and to the health care community to find a solution to this shortage. I, along with my colleagues in the Assembly Minority Conference, support this legislation because it addresses the nursing crisis and works to make it a thing of the past."
