Crouch Responds To State Of The State

Statement From Assemblyman Clifford W. Crouch (R-Bainbridge)
January 8, 2014

“I look forward to once again working with Gov. Cuomo on this year’s agenda. His proposed tax cut plan is broad and incorporates many of the ideas I have long advocated for. Bringing tax relief to businesses and to all New Yorkers is a great proposal that will allow for economic development to flourish and job creation to grow, as people still attempt to get back to work.

Tax cuts are a big step in the right direction, but we must not disregard spending; we must ensure there is a responsible balance between the two. Other measures that must also be looked into include welfare reforms and unfunded mandate relief. We also need to take important steps to secure the successful futures of our children by taking a comprehensive look at education reform, specifically addressing the GAP Elimination Adjustment (GEA), Common Core and APPR, and how they affect the advancements of our students and their development.

As we enter the new legislative session, I am excited to again work with my colleagues and the governor to achieve the success New Yorkers deserve.”
