Crouch Announces Petition to Pass Gold Star Families Education Bill This Session
Assemblyman Clifford W. Crouch (R-Bainbridge) announced today that the Assembly Minority has created a petition for constituents to sign urging the Assembly Majority to pass A.2991 this legislative session. A.2991, also known as the Gold Star Families Education Bill, would provide free college tuition and room and board to dependents of our military veterans who died in service to their country. The issue picked traction after Assembly Majority members voted to hold it for consideration in the Higher Education Committee early last week, effectively killing it in committee.
I encourage everyone that supports this legislation to sign our petition, said Crouch. Every signature sends a message to the majority and lets them know that what they did was wrong. With your help we can keep the momentum going and hopefully push the majority to bring this bill to the floor for a vote. I would like to see this legislation pass before the close of this years session in June.
