Crouch: Farmworkers Fair Labor Practices Act Will Devastate Southern Tier Farms
As a former dairy farmer I know firsthand the struggles our farmers face day to day to keep their farms up and running, said Crouch. Small family farms in New York state already endure low milk prices, changing weather and other circumstances out of their control. To place another financial burden on them and more regulations to juggle could be detrimental. We could see hundreds of family farms that have been running for generations close their doors. While I believe the sponsor, a New York City legislator, is acting in good faith, this bill is going to have devastating consequences for the rest of New York.
