Assemblyman Dan Stec (R,C,I-Queensbury) honored the Lake George High School Boys Basketball Team for winning the New York State Class C Championship on March 21, defeating Watervliet by a score of 53-50 for their second championship in three years. The team was led by senior point guard Joel Wincowski, who scored 30 points in the championship game and was named the Class C Tournament most valuable player.
I was very proud to honor these tremendous athletes from my district, Stec said. By winning two championships in three years they have cemented themselves as a dominant basketball powerhouse in the Class C division and have brought great recognition to Lake George High School. I applaud the successes of these young men on the basketball court and in the classroom and wish them the best of luck as they work for another championship next year.
