Norber Joins Call for MTA Audit

Following today’s press conference, Assemblyman Daniel Norber (R,C-Great Neck) reiterated the urgent need for a comprehensive forensic audit of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), highlighting the agency’s long-standing financial mismanagement and inefficiencies.

“The MTA is an institution in desperate need of reevaluation,” said Norber. “With billions of taxpayer dollars at stake, we cannot continue to allow waste and abuse to go unchecked. The numbers don’t lie; $700 million lost to fare evasion, $800 million in uncollected tolls and rampant overtime fraud. These are more than just minor accounting errors. These are systemic failures that demand accountability. A forensic audit is the first step in ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly and commuters receive the service they pay into.”
