“The ongoing migrant crisis has extended far beyond the southern border and has now arrived in our front yards here in Erie County. Calling it anything other than a crisis is wrong. The failure of the Governor, Mayor Eric Adams and the Biden Administration has caused local towns and counties across upstate New York to shoulder the burden.

“I stand in adamant opposition to the shipment of asylum seekers from New York City. It is inhuman to force rural counties to take on unknown numbers of migrants who require significant services when these counties are not equipped to handle such an immigration influx,” said DiPietro.
