Today, New York lost one of the best statesmen it has ever had. Former New York City Mayor Ed Koch was the epitome of the citizen legislator. He was a man of the people and one of the greatest communicators to hold an elected office in New York State. Mayor Koch was a larger-than-life figure who became one of New York’s great leaders, even after his time in office had ended.
