DiPietro Calls On Governor To Release School Aid Runs
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C – East Aurora), members of the Assembly Minority Conference, and the New York State School Boards Association are calling on Gov. Cuomo to release school aid runs so schools can craft their budgets properly. As it currently stands, the governor has refused to release the runs in order to force controversial education reforms through the Legislature. School districts must report whether or not they are staying within the two percent property tax cap by March 1.
“Gov. Cuomo is forcing every single school district in this state to draft a budget in the dark,” DiPietro said. “How are you supposed to know how to craft a budget when you don’t know how much money you’re getting? This is just another one of this governor’s games. He sets up all these false decisions around budget season, and this is one of them. Holding the school runs hostage is a new low, even for this hapless governor! Release the runs, governor.”
