DiPietro-Sponsored Equal Pay Bill Passes Unanimously
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) announced that Assembly Bill 6075, which prohibits differential pay because of sex, passed the Assembly unanimously today. Despite the legislative victory, DiPietro believes partisan politics prevented this essential legislation from appearing before the Assembly over the past two years.
“For two years, I, along with my colleagues in the Assembly Minority, called on the Majority to pass each bill of the Women’s Equality Agenda on its own merits,” DiPietro said. “It’s a shame that for two years equal pay was held hostage by a controversial abortion expansion bill. I’m proud of the work we did here today, but it would have come much sooner if it weren’t for the Majority playing partisan politics with the protections offered to women in this bill.”
