Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) awarded a Citation to DOT Engineer Dan Bierut for creating a line of sight at the intersection of Route 39 and Van Slyke Road. The Van Slyke/Route 39 intersection has been the site of many accidents over the past four decades before Mr. Bierut took charge of the project and solved the problem once and for all.

“As a member of the Assembly Committee on Transportation, I’ve been working to get a clear line of vision at the Van Slyke intersection, and because of the excellent work of Dan Bierut, that has been accomplished. This is a major victory for public safety for the Town of Sardinia, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, DOT and the community as a whole. I’m proud to have helped save lives,” DiPietro said.
