Assemblyman DiPietro Helps Honor WWII Vet
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) joined Congressman Chris Collins at the East Aurora American Legion to award Marine Corps Veteran Donald E. Schmidle medals he earned on behalf of our nation during World War II. The Congressman awarded the retired corporal the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, a Discharge Button, and an Honorable Service Lapel Pin. DiPietro honored the man’s service by awarding him an official Citation for his bravery and service to the country.
“Donald Schmidle served our great country as a member of the Marine Corps in World War II seeing action in the Pacific Theater, and it was an absolute honor to take part in our country recognizing this brave man,” DiPietro said. “Mr. Schmidle is a lifelong resident of Western New York, and we couldn’t be prouder to have him in our community.”
