Dipietro: Spending Out Of Control In Downstate-Dominated Budget
A statement by Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora)
March 14, 2016
“Today’s budget showed just how out-of-touch New York City liberals are with the values of the rest of the state. Tuition for illegal immigrants, a $5.6 billion tax increase, and a 50 percent cut to agricultural assistance are just a few of the many, many lowlights. High taxes and open registration for social welfare programs might fly in the city, but to put that albatross around the necks of Upstate New Yorkers goes too far. There might not be a lot of farms on Fifth Avenue, but there are up here. This budget needs a lot of work, and unless it gets it, I won’t be voting in favor.”
