DiPietro: NY Ranks Dead Last In Economic Outlook Again
Assemblyman David DiPietro (R,C-East Aurora) is pointing to the recent American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) Economic Outlook Ratings as proof the high-tax, high-regulation economic model in Albany has failed.
“For the 7th Rating out of 8, New York has ranked dead last in economic outlook because we tax and regulate too much. New York is not, and has not been, ‘open for business’,” DiPietro said. “This year’s budget has actually made this worse. Mandating paid family leave and a massive hike in the minimum wage will doom us to the 50th spot until we reverse course. We see why thousands are leaving the state. START-UP NY, tax credits for Hollywood millionaires, and Hunger Games competitions for state funding have done nothing to improve our economic standing. Instead of flashy PowerPoint presentations, we need relief for small businesses. We need to cut taxes, slash regulations and take Albany as far away from the private sector as possible. Until then, we’ll keep losing jobs and citizens to Florida, Texas and the rest of the country.”
DiPietro is the Ranking Minority Member of the Assembly Committee on Small Business and has run his own small business for decades.
